He has now revealed his love life by wishing an anniversary to his lady love.
Tongi’s exciting relationship news came in September 2024 when he shared some pictures of a girl on his Instagram, writing that she makes him smile.
He also wished the lady “happy birthday beautiful,” which made the fans aware that he was wishing his girlfriend.
There was also a video of Tongi with his girlfriend where he was seen hugging her and kissing on forehead as they enjoyed some kind of a show.
Three months later, Tongi again shared an Instagram carousel on December 4, 2024, to wish his girlfriend their 1-year anniversary.
Tongi joked in the caption saying that it has been a year since she forced him to ask her out. He then added, “I love you babe, forever.”
A user named @solagu24 replied to the post, who is active on Instagram with the name Leah.
Many of his fans congratulated him and expressed their happiness in the comment section.

Tongi’s family has been his greatest supporter. His father was the one who always encouraged him to sing and said that singing is the only thing that is meant for him.
Iam Tongi’s dad is Rodney, who passed away just a few months before his American Idol audition.
Tongi had no intention of opening up about his father on his journey in American Idol as he didn’t want people to think it was a sob story.
However, Tongi struggled to hold back his tears and opened up about his dad and his journey. His dad gifted him a guitar when he was 13 years old, from his holiday paycheck.
Since Tongi was very close to his dad, his demise took a toll on him because of which he thought of not singing again as it was too painful without his dad.
But as time passed, Tongi found comfort in hearing his dad’s voice singing with him. He even worked hard to make his dad’s dream come true.
Tongi recalled his dad’s last days in an interview with Hawaii News Now’s Muthaship podcast, saying that his dad was worried about his career even when he was on his deathbed.
Tongi dedicated his song “Monsters” to his late dad and earned his golden ticket to Hollywood.
Well, he has now won the singing competition and established himself as a singer.
Tongi’s dad, Rodney, passed away due to kidney failure on December 28, 2021.
Rodney previously suffered a heart attack when Tongi was in high school, in his freshman year. It was when the family moved to the continental U.S., as the cost of living in Hawaii was high.
His mother is Lillie N Rodney Tongi. She was the one who signed up Iam for his American Idol audition.
Lillie is now married to Chance Richardson since they tied the knot in December 2024. They got married in an intimate ceremony with their immediate family.
Iam Tongi Siblings
Tongi is the youngest of five children of Rodney and Lillie. He has two brothers and two sisters who are also his greatest supporters.
His sister Tacha got married in April 2025 to Gunnar Mortensen. She wanted her brothers to represent her dad for her daddy dance.
Iam Tongi’s brothers are Leki and LeRod. His sisters are Tacha and Cristina.
